Man Tracks Stolen iPhone 5 to GameStop: Police Blotter

Door Damaged

A 32-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was inside her home when heard her doorbell ring several times before hearing a banging noise. When the woman checked her front door, she noticed the frame was damaged and the door was forced open, according to the report. The woman told police she received a call the day before from a woman known only as "Lashanda," who threatened to beat her. After the door was damaged the woman received another call from the same woman, who said through laughter, "I'm gonna keep messin' with you if you keep messin' with my man," according to the report.

Egg Throwers

A 27-year-old Park Forest man told police he was driving near the intersection of Ashland Avenue and Country Club Drive when unknown people threw eggs at his vehicle, hitting the front and rear passenger doors. The eggs left scratches on the doors, causing $300 in damage, according to the police report. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the offenders, according to the report. 

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 14 

iPhone 5 Stolen

A 24-year-old Country Club Hills man told police he was in the checkout line at Ultra Foods and forgot his iPhone 5 on the conveyor. When he remembered the phone, the man returned but could not find it. The man called his mother, who traced the phone to GameStop in the 2500 block of Lincoln Highway, according to the report. When the man arrived at the store, it was closed but an employee was inside. The man spoke to the GameStop employee through the glass and the employee confirmed his phone was there and that the store bought it from an unknown person for $200. The employee also said the man needed to provide a copy of a police report to get it back. The man called Olympia Fields Police, who told him he needed to file the report with Heights Police. Heights police met with the man at the store, but the clerk was gone by that time, according to the report.

Windshield Attacked

A 62-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was driving near the intersection of 14th Street and Ashland Avenue when someone threw an unknown object at her vehicle, hitting the windshield on the passenger side. The object caused the windshield to crack, according to the report.

Harassment

A 20-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she received about 30 phone calls and text messages from a woman known only as "Shannon," who was upset because the woman spoke with her boyfriend. The text messages were calling the woman a racial slur, according to the report. Police called the number and spoke with Shannon, telling her a report was being filed and not to call the woman anymore. Shannon the hung up, police said.
