The home is sacred. Those who break in are not. Here's a roundup of recent home burglary reports from Chicago Heights.

MONDAY, MAY 20

Cell phone & Change


A cell phone and a bottle of change worth about $70 were taken from a bedroom in the 1600 block of School Street, according to a report. The victim told police the burglar gained access through an unlocked window.

SATURDAY, MAY 18

Tools Taken In Burglary


Tools were taken from a garage in the 300 block of East 25th Street, according to a report. Sometime between May 16 and May 18, three saws, compressors, several nail guns and a pressure washer were stolen. The total cost of the tools is estimated to be about more than $1,000.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Wheelchair Stolen


Several items, including a wheelchair, were stolen from an unlocked garage in the first block of West 25th Street, according to a report. The titanium, black and red wheelchair is valued at $3,000. Also taken were a $299 Craftsman tool set and a $200 red and white lawn mower.

The burglary happened sometime between May 17 and May 18.
