TUESDAY, MAY 7

Burglar Alarm Draws Cops

Chicago Heights police responded to a burglar alarm at about 3:57 p.m. in the 400 block of East 22nd Street, according to a report. Officers found a rear porch door open and the door frame damaged. The alarm was shut off but the victim was unable to determine if anyone had broken into the apartment. Nothing was reported stolen.

Diamonds, Electronics Taken in Burglary

Electronics, shoes and jewelry were reported stolen from an apartment in the 1600 block of Hanover Street, according to a report. The victim had locked the door to the entryway at about noon when he left. When he returned at 12:15 p.m., he found the door open and several rooms of the apartment ransacked. The items taken included: a 42-inch Sanyo Television, a Playstation 3, a steel and diamond chain, two pairs of diamond earrings, Bo Jackson shoes, Polo boots, three pairs of Hecks shoes and a wallet. The total value of the stolen items was more than $2,200.
