There's nothing more annoying than finding your car or truck busted up. Here's a roundup of recent vehicle-related burglaries and thefts in Chicago Heights.

May 12: A woman smashed up a 2001 Buick car parked in the 600 block of West 16th Place, according to a report. A metal pipe was used to break the front and rear windshields and front and rear passenger windows. Also, both front tires were flattened. The victim refused to sign a complaint.

May 11: A juvenile accidentally threw a rock through the rear window of a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am parked in the first block of Olympic Village, according to report. The entire window was smashed. Police were unable to locate the youth.

May 10: A 1993 Cadillac de Ville caught fire in the 1700 block of East End Avenue, according to a report. Police said the car was unoccupied and unattended when it burned. Chicago Heights firefighters extinguished the blaze.

May 10: Someone stole a wallet that contained $150 cash, debit cards and identification from a car parked in the 500 block of Wallace Street, according to a report. The victim was unsure if the car was locked prior to the burglary, which happened sometime between 8 p.m. May 9 and 8 a.m. May 10.

May 8: A man who left his keys in the grass while he played basketball saw his 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo stolen, according to a report. When the man finished playing basketball, he returned to the 300 block of West 14th Street where the car was parked and found both the keys and car gone. The car was later recovered in Ford Heights. Four people had been arrested by Cook County Sheriff's deputies.

May 8: A 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo stolen from University Heights was found in the 600 block of Beacon Boulevard, according to a report. Police conducted a canvas of the area but were unable to find any suspects.

May 8: The tires and chrome rims were stolen from a 2006 Cadillac STS parked in a parking lot of OT Auto Sales, 535 W. 14th St., according to a report. The car parts were taken sometime between 8:30 p.m. May 7 and 8:30 a.m. May 8. The total value of the parts is estimated to be $5,500.
