Sobriety Test on the Rocks

Police said Virgil E. Griffin, 40, of Matteson, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped at the intersection of Cumnock Road and Crawford Avenue in connection with speeding and turning without signaling. Griffin did not pass any field sobriety tests at the scene, but told police the tests were not fair because they were on "rocks," according to reports. Officers said Griffin took the tests again at the police station and, once again, did not pass them.

DUI Reported

Police said Jennifer M. Sparks, 38, of Ford Heights, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped on Lincoln Highway in connection with speeding and improper lane use. Sparks did not pass any of the field sobriety tests, according to reports.

Criminal Damage to Property

Security at The Daybridge School in Olympia Fields told police one of the building's windows was damaged. Police said a window screen was "pried and bent" but the window itself was intact, and whoever damaged the screen had not entered the building.
