Busted by Burning Marijuana

Maurice Williams Jr., of Orland Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after he was stopped for having an object hanging from his rear-view mirror and obstructing his view, police said. Police asked Williams about the smell of burnt marijuana coming from his vehicle, and he admitted to hiding a small bag of cannabis under the seat, according to the report. Police located 5.6 grams of cannabis in the vehicle and took Williams into custody.

Suspended, Revoked License Across Two States

Robert A. Antonaglia, of Hammond, Ind., was arrested and charged with driving on a revoked license in Illinois and a suspended license in Indiana after police stopped him for not having a registration plate light, according to the report. Antonaglia also had a warrant out of Cook County for criminal damage to property.

Fake Tags and Marijuana

Muhammed I. Abubakar, of Harvey, was arrested and charged with improper use of registration after police stopped him on Lincoln Highway, saying he was displaying a fake Indiana temporary license plate. Abubakar's tag said he purchased his SUV July 31, 2011, whereas his title said he purchased the vehicle May 4, 2011, police said. A police K-9 also helped find three bags of a green, leafy substance, which tested positive for marijuana, under Abubakar's brake release lever.

‘I Don't Want to be Arrested’

Chauncy Collier, a truck driver from Hazel Crest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped on Lincoln Highway for swerving and braking for no reason, police said. Collier refused to perform field sobriety tests, according to police. Asked why, Collier told police, "It's because I don't want to be arrested ... I had a couple of drinks," the report said.

William G. Braun, of Tinley Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and having a blood-alcohol content over .08.
