Police Blotter: Accused Drunk Driver Rips Through Paperwork

Monday, March 14

Appliance Theft

A 51-year-old Sauk Village woman told police her refrigerator and stove were stolen from her former residence in the 1500 block of Donovan Street sometime between March 1 and March 14.

Magazine Theft

Juanita T. Gonzalez, 22, of the 200 block of Gentry Street in Park Forest was arrested and charged with retail theft after security personnel at Ultra Foods told police he saw Gonzalez take a magazine, lotion and makeup out of the store without paying, police said.

Criminal Trespassing

Hector Hinojosa, 40, of the 16500 block of Sawyer Avenue in Markham was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property after a police officer saw him at the Chicago Heights Public Library urinating on himself, according to police. The officer smelled alcohol on Hinojosa and asked him to leave, but he refused and was taken into custody, according to police.

Photo Op

A 43-year-old Harvey woman was told to leave a Pace bus after she got on and started taking photos of other passengers, claiming one of them was following her, police said.

Sunday, March. 13

Let Him Rip

Abdulaziz A. Abduelkheir, 26, of the 14700 block of South Arboretum Drive in Homer Glen was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped near the intersection of 14th Street and Otto Boulevard for speeding and running a red light, according to police. After taking a Breathalyzer test, Abduelkheir grabbed the results of the test and began ripping them before police restrained him, police said.

DUI

Ismael Sanchez-Alba, 28, of the 1200 block of Otto Boulevard and his passenger, Gerardo Sanchez-Alba, 20, of the 3500 block of West 66th Street in Chicago, were arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and assault, respectively, after the two were stopped near the intersection of Aberdeen Street and Hickory Street for driving erratically, police said.

Gerardo got out of the vehicle, drank a beer in front of police and stepped toward the officer before he was taken down and placed in custody, according to police. Ismael registered at around three times the legal blood-alcohol limit on a Breathalyzer test, police said.

Saturday, March 12

Stray Dog

A 46-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he was bitten on the hand by a large brown Boxer dog in the 400 block dog West 14th Place at 11 a.m. After the dog ran away, the man went to St. James Hospital and had his injury treated, police said. Police were unable to find the dog, according to the animal bite report.
