DUI, No Insurance and Speeding

Joseph A. Leal, 54, of the 1600 block of Thorn Street in Chicago Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance and speeding. Police said Leal was driving too fast for the rainy weather. He was taken to Will County Jail.

THURSDAY, DEC. 29

DUI

Felix Stallings, 60, of the 22800 block of East Wind Drive in Park Forest was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped near the intersection of 14th Street and Division Street, according to the report.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 28

Attempted Home Invasion

A 40-year-old Chicago Heights man and his wife told police they were sleeping in the upstairs bedroom of their 12th Street home when they heard someone ring the doorbell multiple times. After a brief pause, the couple then heard a loud bang, according to the report. The man told police he went downstairs and saw the front door had been kicked open, adding that it did not appear anyone had entered the house.

Bike Theft at Park District

A 18-year-old Chicago Heights man told police that between 4:50 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. someone removed his gold Mongoose boys bike from in front of the Chicago Heights Park District Recreation Center. The man told police video surveillance may be available but the operator of the equipment was not there at the time.

Bad Hookup

Security at Olympic Village Apartments confronted Phillip M. Holloway, 61, of the 400 block of West 144th Street in Riverdale, as he sat in his car in the parking lot, and asked him if he had business there. Holloway said he did not have business but was there for a rendezvous with a woman from Glenwood, according to the report. Police took him into custody and he was charged with trespassing.
