Police Blotter: Battery Suspect Says He's Wearing a Wire

Violent, Wire-Wearing Drinking Partner

A 22-year-old Sauk Village woman told police she had been drinking in a vehicle with 36-year-old Chicago Heights man when the man yelled at her because he believed her to be "stepping out" on him, according to the report. The man then pulled her hair and struck her in the face with a closed fist, according to the report. The woman also told police the man claimed no one would touch him because he was "wearing a wire." The woman refused to talk about her relationship with the man, telling police to just go lock him up, police said. Police were were unable to find him.

Window Blocks DUI Arrestee

Stephen Simpson, 21, of the 300 block of Ottawa Street in Park Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped for not being able to stay in single lane on Chicago Road, police said. When asked to roll his window down, Simpson lowered his rear window and tried to hand his driver's license to police through the closed front window, according to the report. Simpson took field sobriety tests which all indicated impairment, police said.

138 Creepy Texts

A 31-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police an acquaintance had sent text messages to her 138 times since she told him to stop. Some of the messages were "I see you are at home, come outside," "If you don't talk to me, I'm going to make your Christmas hell," and "I see you!" according to the report.

Theft at Ultra

Jerome President, 44, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with retail theft, police said, after security stopped him while attempting to leave the store with batteries he had not paid for. A background check revealed President has been convicted of theft eight times in the past, police said.
