Police Blotter: Battery with a Bottle and Damage to Property

Baby Mama Drama?

On May 27, a 19-year-old Chicago Heights woman, who is two to three months pregnant, told police her ex-boyfriend hit her with a closed fist in the right arm and face repeatedly. The woman refused all medical attention and police observed no signs of injury. Two days later, the same woman told police the man and another woman approached her for no reason, choked her and broke her nose. The woman still had no signs of injury but demanded police kick in the door of a Shields Avenue apartment because her "boyfriend" might be inside and "has no business there," according to the report. Police told the woman they were not allowed to go inside the apartment.

Battery

William J. Raguse, 49, of the 100 block of East 25th Street, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police saw him punching a woman on her body, according to the report. The woman told police Raguse punched her in her pelvis, back and arms for no apparent reason.

Bottle to the Head

A 31-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was in near the intersection of 14th Street and Center Avenue having an argument with a woman she had an ongoing problem when another woman hit her with a bottle. Police saw swelling on the woman's forehead but she refused all medical attention, according to the report.

Broken Window

A 37-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was awoken just before 5 a.m. by a loud noise coming from the front of her 14th Street apartment. The woman then noticed her front window was broken, according to the report. There was a large piece of wood laying on the floor, police said.

Burned Fence

A 46-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police railroad ties that border her 16th Street property and a 5-foot portion of her fence were burned by unknown means.
