Police Blotter: Battle Between Sisters, Human Battering Ram

Family Feud

Shantell M. Richardson, 22, of the 600 block of Andover, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after a family member told police Richardson attacked her, according to the report. The victim told police she was laying down in her room after a night of drinking and listening to music, when Richardson came into her room and said "What the (expletive) you on?" Richardson then attacked the victim, pushing her and shaking her, according to the report. When police arrived Richardson was highly intoxicated, irate, and was throwing furniture around while yelling at the victim, police said.

Human Battering Ram

Scotty Gatlin, 40, of the 200 block of West 15th Street, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property after a dispute his ex-girlfriend's sister, according to police. Gatlin became angry when the sister told him his ex was not home and began "throwing his body into the door," according to the report. The frame broke and the door opened, but Gatlin did not enter the house as the sister was blocking the doorway, police said.

Bad Breath

Latacha Parnell, 27, of the 400 block of Tamarack Street in Park Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and driving with a suspended license after police stopped her for swerving onto the dividing lines, according to the report. Given a Breathalyzer test, Parnell would blow for a few seconds, then block the pipe with her tongue, making the test insufficient, police said.

Battery

Clifton Reed Jr., 46, of the 1200 block of Mason Court, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after his girlfriend told police he struck her head and chest with an open and hand and a closed fist. Reed's girlfriend injured her left wrist in the fight but refused medical attention, according to the report.

DUI

Heriberto Zarante, 36, of the 100 block of West 28th Place, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him near the intersection of Chicago Road and 19th Street at around 3:30 a.m., according to the report.
