Arrested Twice in Two Days

Michael Mayden, 46, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery after a Chicago Heights man told police Mayden became irate during an argument and struck him in the neck, according to the report. The next day, the same victim called police, claiming Mayden had threatened him. Police then took Mayden into custody a second time, charging him with domestic assault.

Aggressive Panhandling

Rickey J. Smith, 53, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with aggresive panhandling after a Steger woman told police she was at the intersection of 16th and Oak streets when Smith came up from behind her and said "(profanity), come here and give me some money," according to the report. The woman said Smith then followed her on 16th Street until she notified the police, at which time he fled, according to the report. Police brought the woman back to the area and she pointed out Smith, who was taken into custody, police said.

Knocked with a Lock

A 20-year-old Benton Harbor, MI, woman told police she was at a Marathon Gas Station when another person came up to her and hit her in the back of the head with a lock for no apparent reason, according to the report. The woman could not say exactly which Marathon she was at, only that it was across the street from a Popeye's Chicken restaurant, according to the report.

House Burglary

A 35-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police someone entered her home and removed a computer, an Xbox Kinect, five Xbox games and an Internet modem, valued at more than $1,000, according to the report. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Stolen Scooter

A 25-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he left his motor scooter in his driveway with the motor running and key in the ignition. The man said two unknown people then took the black-and-purple scooter and fled, according to the report.
