Police Blotter: DUI Arrestee Issued Six Charges

Drug Paraphernalia Arrest

Lynn Wilson, 52, who is listed as homeless, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after police saw him riding a bicycle on Halsted Street and recognized him from "prior incidents," according to the report. Police discovered Wilson had two active Cook County warrants out for his arrest in connection with previous drug and drug paraphernalia possession charges, according to the report. As police attempted to take Wilson into custody he dropped a glass pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine, police said.

Six Charges 

Erika Salgado, 34, of the 2300 block of South Albany in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police saw her traveling the wrong way on a oneway portion of West 23rd Street, according to the report. Police conducted field sobriety tests on Salgado before taking her into custody. Salgado was also brought up on charges for improper lane usage, no proof of insurance, failure to wear a seatbelt, illegal transportation of alcohol and blood-alcohol content above .08, according to police.

Trespassing

Renard Anderson, 54, of the 11300 block of Wentworth Avenue, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property after police got a call about a burglary in progress in the 1500 block of Hanover Street, according to the report. When police arrived at the location they saw Anderson exiting a vacant residence and took him into custody, according to the report. 

Car Damage

  • A 33-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she stepped outside of her Hilltop Avenue home to find a brick had been thrown through the back window of her car while it was parked in her driveway.
  • A 41-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was driving northbound on Euclid at 21st Street and heard an unknown object strike her car. When the woman arrived home she checked her car and found a dent on the passenger side, which she believes was caused by someone throwing a rock at her car, according to the report.
