Bomb Threat?

Police and the Chicago Heights Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 call about a bomb threat at Riviera Manor on West 16th Place, according to the report. An employee of Riviera told police she knew nothing about a bomb threat but that they have a resident with an extensive history of calling false bomb threats. Police asked the resident, who said did not call in anything, but they also made note of his history of schizoaffective disorder, according to the report.

Wheel Switcheroo

A 22-year-old Chicago Heights man told police someone removed a chrome wheel and tire from the driver's side of his truck between 8 p.m. on Jan. 4 and 5 p.m. on Jan. 5. After removing the wheel, the offender replaced it with a non-chrome wheel and tire, placing the original chrome lugnut cover and valve stem cap on the replacement wheel, according to the report.

Food-Eating Notebook-Throwing Dirty Name Caller?

A 53-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police the man she lives with and pays rent to has been verbally abusive to her for about two years and calls her "dirty names." The woman said she can't concentrate enough to get a job because the man calls her names, according to the report. The woman also told police the man eats all the food in the house and she only gets oatmeal. On this occasion, the woman's complaint to police was that the man had thrown a notebook on the floor in her bedroom.

Three TVs, Two Phones and a Tool Bag

A 26-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she left for work around 9 a.m. and returned at 1:55 p.m. to discover the back door of her 12th Street home was open and the house had been ransacked. Three large-screen TVs were taken, as well as two cell phones and a canvas tool bag with the phrase "Under Construction" printed on the side, according to the report. The total value of the items was more than $4,500, according to the report.

Strange Deposits

A 23-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she lost her debit card between Jan. 2 and Jan. 3, and that the last place she had it was at a Family Dollar store in Chicago Heights. Upon checking her bank accounts, the woman noticed two deposits of more than $1,300 had been made, according to the report. The deposits were determined to be fraudulent and the account was frozen, police said.

Theft from Southwest Disability

A 36-year-old resident of Southwest Disability on West 14th Place told police she returned home from a workshop to learn her TV was missing from her bedroom. A staff member told police she checked the facility for the TV.
