WEDNESDAY, MAY 25

'I'm Going to Kill You'

Chicago Heights and Homewood police were dispatched to a residence on Holbrook Road after a 39-year-old Park Forest woman said her husband threatened her with a knife. The woman had just told the man she wanted to end her relationship with him when he grabbed her by her shirt, held a knife in the air and said, "I'm going to kill you," according to reports. The woman told police she ran into the street and flagged down a passing motorist. The husband fled the area, police said.

Barber Shop Burglary

A 62-year-old Bolingbrook man told police an unknown person pried open the rear door to his business, Fly Cuts, 153 S. Halsted St., and stole a 42-inch flat-screen TV.

Unsecured Safe

A 54-year-old woman from Gary, Ind., told police her car was parked in the 1100 block of Claude Court when she discovered a window was broken and the trunk had been opened. A fireproof safe containing $1,800 was reported missing.

More Than $7,000 in Electronics and Cash Stolen

A 32-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police someone broke into her front window and stole numerous items from her home, including a PlayStation Portable, a PlayStation 3 console, a Nintendo DSi, a watch, a digital camera and $5,700 in cash.

A Bad Way to Bank

A 74-year-old Ford Heights man told police he met a man outside Walmart in Glenwood who complained about not being able to deposit and withdraw money at Mississippi banks. The Ford Heights man and his wife decided to give the man and his friend a ride to Charter One Bank, 101 Dixie Highway. After the Ford Heights man withdrew $1,000 from his account, one of the men took the money out of his hand and fled, according to the report.
