Police Blotter: Man Charged After Pillow Attack

Chicago Heights police blotter, June 15-16.

SATURDAY, JUNE 16

Pillow Fight 

Lee Wakefield, 24, of the 2100 block of 175th Street in Lansing, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after his girlfriend told police they had been arguing in her bedroom when Wakefield pulled a pillow from underneath her head and hit her in the face with it. Wakefield then left the residence before being picked up on Otto Blvd. and taken into custody, according to the report. Police then searched Wakefield and discovered a plastic bag containing 1.5 grams of marijuana, according to the report. Wakefield picked up an additional charge for possession of cannabis.

DUI

Banesa Jaquez, 25, of the 1000 block of Emerald Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped her on Emerald Avenue just after 1:30 a.m., according to the report.

FRIDAY, JUNE 15

Attempted Ruse Burglary

A 74-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police two men driving a white SUV pulled into her driveway and knocked on her door. The men told the woman they wanted to purchase a door like hers, according to the report. The woman told police she then saw a third man open her side door and attempt to enter her home. When the woman asked what he was doing he walked quickly back to the SUV and the man left, according to the report.

Fan Boy

An employee of Cricket Wireless in the 300 block of West 14th Street told police a man walked into the store asking about a free cell phone but was denied. While the man was walking out of the business, he grabbed a fan belonging to Cricket and continued to leave, according to the report. The employee described the fan thief as a 6-feet, 1-inch tall, 200 pounds and wearing a white t-shirt with black shorts, according to the report.

Improper Walking

Ramona Murphy, 43, of the 800 block of Holbrook Drive, was arrested and charged with improper walking in a roadway after police saw her obstructing traffic near the intersection of 16th Street and Euclid Avenue, according to the report.
