FRIDAY, SEPT. 16

Woman Charged with Assault at Chicago Heights P.D.

A Chicago Heights woman was charged with assault after verbally abusing another woman at Chicago Heights police headquarters, 1601 S. Halsted St., police said. Carey A. Williams, 34, of the 400 block of 15th Place, was witnessed by a police officer going "toe to toe" with another woman and yelling at her at the station, police said. The women were there in regards to a dispute involving children, according to the report. Williams has a Sept. 30 court date in Markham.

Man Says Angry Wife Punched Holes in Wall

A Chicago Heights man reported to police that his enraged wife damaged his car and punched holes in their kitchen wall. The man told investigators that he and his wife were arguing when the woman punched the wall around 6 p.m., creating four holes. The woman then left the apartment, but she called her husband around 11 p.m. to inform him that she'd broken a mirror and scratched his car, according to the report. Police informed the man about domestic violence complaint procedures.

Combative Bloom Student

A Bloom High School student was arrested and transported to Chicago Heights police headquarters Friday afternoon because he refused to stop fighting other students, police said. A Bloom security officer met with a Chicago Heights police officer, informing him that the student had refused to stop fighting other students at the school at 101 W. 10th St. The student, who is not identified because he is a minor, was released to his mother's custody, according to the report.

Homeless Man Robbed

A homeless man reported to police that a green duffle bag containing his clothing and personal items was stolen around 3 p.m. The man told police he left his bag outside Respond Now, 1439 Emerald, an agency that provides assistance to the needy.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 14

BB Gun Scare on Chicago Road

A Chicago Heights man scared one observer who spotted a gun in his possession, police said. When police stopped the man at 15th Street and Chicago Road, they found a BB gun in his possession, according to the report. The gun, which the report described as a "toy," was surrendered to police by the man and placed in evidence, police said.
