FRIDAY, FEB. 10

Child Support Card, Cash Missing When Purse Stolen

A woman shopping at a grocery store in the 500 block of West 14th Street reported her purse stolen at about 7 p.m. The woman told officers she accidentally left her purse on a shopping cart while she was loading her car and when she returned for it, it was missing. The woman said $720 in cash was gone, as well as her identification and child support card. 

Man Yelling in Alley Nabbed on Nuisance Charges

Miguel Munoz, 50, of the 400 block of West 14th Street was arrested on public nuisance charges at about 12:41 p.m. According to reports, Munoz was drinking and yelling in alley in the 1500 block of Otto Boulevard and when officers approached him, he began yelling obscenities.

THURSDAY, FEB. 9

Underaged Man Arrested on DUI Charges

Tyler Loyde, 20, of the 6400 block of Kenwood Avenue in Chicago was arrested on DUI charges and was citied for several traffic violations. Officers reportedly saw Loyde's car eastbound on West 14th Street at Aberdeen without any registration or license plates. During the traffic stop, police observed a strong odor of alcohol and watery, bloodshot eyes, according to the report.

Homeless Man Arrested After 'Messing With' Electric Meter

Jeffrey Williams, 48, was arrested at about 5:02 a.m. after witnesses reportedly observed him " messing with the box" at a house in the 1300 block of Washington Street. According to reports, the witness also saw Williams remove the electric meter from the side of the house; when officers arrived, they found Williams had reportedly fled the scene and they found an old air conditioning unit on the ground.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 8

Man Says His Face Was Cut With a Box Cutter

A man says an argument over a pit bull puppy led to an altercation where a computer was smashed and he was cut with a box cutter, according to reports. The incident happened in the 1300 block of Washington at about 4:18 p.m. between two men. During the struggle, a Visio computer valued at $2,000 was reportedly knocked to the floor and the victim was cut on the face with a box cutter. The suspect left the scene and the victim refused treatment, according to reports.
