Police Blotter: Mysterious Pick-Up, Drug Possession

Drug Possession

Deloris J. Dean, 52, of the 1200 block of Barbara Lane, was arrested and charged with failure to signal, driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance after police attempted to stop her on D'Amico Drive for driving at night without headlights on, according to the report. Dean continued driving all the way to her home and told police she didn't know they were trying to stop her. Asked if there was anything in the car police should know about, Dean's passenger Candice M. Gates told police "I got a few bags of weed, nothing bad," and gave police three bags of marijuana.

Gates, 56, of the 2900 block of 190th Street in Lansing, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.

Criminal Trespassing

Charles A. Ranieri, 62, of the 3000 block of Chicago Road in South Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property after a security officer at Olympic Village told police Ranieri was sitting in a car outside a residence there. The officer saw a man walked up to Ranieri's car then turn around and run away, according to the report. Ranieri provided conflicting stories about why he was on the property, then received a text message saying "Don't tell them you're here for me," according to the report.

Choke Often?

A 32-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police her boyfriend said "I'm gonna choke you like I did last time" while attempting to grab her throat. The woman dodged the choker's attack before he left her home, according to the report. Police were unable to locate the attacker.

Window Broken

A 61-year-old Chicago Heights man told police someone broke a window at his Craig Drive home sometime between 12:45 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The window frame was also damaged, according to the report.
