Police Blotter: Police Pull Gun on DUI Arrestee

Gun Pulled in DUI Arrest

Theodore Bennett, 44, of the 1200 block of West End, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said they found him inside his car, which was running. Police approached the vehicle and Bennett shifted it into drive, reports said. After Bennett refused to shift the vehicle back into park, the officer pulled his gun out and demanded it, to which Bennett complied, police said. Police found two brandy bottles and one whiskey bottle in Bennett's vehicle. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license and illegal transportation of alcohol.

Domestic Battery

A 19-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police her boyfriend struck her in the face with a closed fist during an argument at her home. The 21-year-old boyfriend then fled west on Plymouth Drive, according to the report.

Sitting on Blocks

A 37-year-old Chicago Heights man told police all four tires and wheels along with 20 lugnuts and caps were stolen from his car sometime between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19 and 7:35 a.m. Dec. 20. The car was left on cement blocks, according to reports.

Stolen Tank

A hot water tank, an unknown amount of copper pipes and the upstairs and downstairs carpeting of mortgage company-owned property in the 1600 block of School Street were stolen, according to reports. The plywood boarding up the back door had been removed, police said.
