Police Blotter: Stepdad Says Stepdaughter Whacked Him in Head

Metal Thieves Strip Vacant Apartment Building

A bank-owned four-unit apartment building in the 200 block of East 24th Street was stripped of copper piping, according to a police report. Although the entire first floor of the building was boarded up, someone removed the copper pipe from the bathroom and kitchen areas, police said. It was not known when the burglary occurred.

Drug Dealer Beatdown

A Richton Park woman sought police help after she said she was beaten by a notorious Chicago Heights drug dealer who believed she had filched his narcotics, according to the report. The woman told investigators the furious drug dealer picked her up, threw her to the pavement and viciously "knee-capped" her, resulting in a fracture of her knee. The woman said the assault took place near the intersection of 15th Street and Shields, around 11 p.m. The victim, who was on crutches while meeting with investigators, said she had received medical treatment at St. James Hospital and had a follow-up consult about her injuries, police said.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 3

Stepdad Whacked by Stepdaughter

A Chicago Heights stepfather contacted police after his 19-year-old stepdaughter hit him in the in head, police said. The stepfather and the teen were arguing, and the teen walked over to her seated stepfather and struck him on the head with an object, according to the report. The teen then fled from the residence, police said. The man had a cut on his head but declined medical attention, according to the report.
