Police Blotter: Stolen Hairdo, Bloodied After Drinks

SUNDAY, NOV. 20

DUI in Eight Tries

Joniqua M. Stinson, 22, of the 800 block of White Oak Lane in University Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after she was stopped on 14th Street for speeding and weaving into the oncoming traffic lane, according to the report. Asked if she had been drinking, Stinson said no, but changed her answer to "one beer" when she was asked to step out of her car, police said. Stinson attempted a Breathalyzer test eight times before finally registering a blood-alcohol content level of .157, according to the report.

Battered by Drinking Buddy

A 44-year-old Ford Heights woman ended up with a bloody nose and scratched on her face after she and a Chicago Heights man were "hanging out and drinking alcohol," according to the report. She told police the two got into an argument and the 48-year-old man became increasingly angry before punching her in the face with a closed fist. The man then left, according to the report.

SATURDAY, NOV. 19

Stolen Hairdo

The owner of Tobi African Hair Salon, 322 W. 14th St., told police a woman brought her daughter to the salon to have extensions put in her hair. The client gave the owner $60 for the hairdo, but the owner told her the cost of the do was $160. The woman and her daughter then fled the salon with out paying the remaining $100, according to the report.

Apple Vodka DUI

Nadine B. Robinson, 53, of the 2600 block of Marigold Drive in Sauk Village was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped her for disobeying a stop sign and not using a signal to turn, according to the report. Asked if she had been drinking, Robinson told police she had been drinking beer all night but that she did not know how many beers. Police then saw an open bottle of Seagram's Apple Vodka half full on the floor by Robinson's feet, according to the report. She was taken into custody with a blood-alcohol content level of .116.
