Police Blotter: Two West End Residents Charged with Drunken Driving

Chicago Heights police reports, March 2-3.

SATURDAY, MARCH 3

Lane Hoggin' DUI

Jose Gomez-Izquierdo, 40, of the 1200 block of West End Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police saw him nearly hit another vehicle while turning northbound onto Chicago Road, according to the report. Police then observed Gomez-Izquierdo's car taking up two lanes and pulled him over, according to the report. After police discovered Gomez-Izquierdo did not have a valid license, he was ordered to take field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to the report.

DUI

Luis L. Hernandez-Guzman, 29, of the 1200 block of West End Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him near the intersection of 16th Street and Thorn Street just after 2 a.m., according to the report.

FRIDAY, MARCH 2

Mom Attacked

Erica Council, 27, of the 100 block of East 7th Place, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after her mother told police Council struck her in the chest during an argument at their home. The mother also told police other family members had to restrain Council.

Loose Dog

Chicago Heights Police were dispatched to 15th Street and Scott Avenue because of a loose black and white pit bull in a resident's driveway, according to the report. After police found the dog the owner showed up, telling police he was not aware the dog was loose.The owner was cited for unlawful dog at large, no rabies shot and not having the required license for a dog, according to police.
