Police Blotter: Unknown Caller Threatens 83-year-old Woman

Threatening Phone Calls

In two separate incidents, Chicago Heights residents received threatening phone calls:

  • A 38-year-old man told police his 83-year-old grandmother had been getting threatening calls all week. The caller has stated, "I'm gonna beat your old (profanity)," according to the report.
  • A 39-year-old woman told police she received three phone calls from an unknown man that stated, "Tonight I'm bustin' out all those windows and setting the (profanity) on fire." When the woman asked who he was, the man hung up, according to the report. 

Tree Thief

A 61-year-old Chicago Heights man told police someone took two decorative pine trees that were planted in front of his home. The trees are worth around $30 each, according to the report.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 26

Bad Fiancé?

A 33-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police her fiancé stole her cell phone while she was at St. James Hospital medicated and asleep. The woman said she knew her husband-to-be took the phone because when she called it the stranger who answered said he traded the phone for drugs with her fiancé, according to the report.

Stolen Saw

An employee at in Chicago Heights told police sometime between 3 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 25, someone broke off the lock on a trailer and stole a Cutquik saw, worth around $1,000.
