Police Blotter: Wife Beats Husband With Metal Cane

Temper Tantrum in a Squad Car

Michelle Jenkins, 50, of the 200 block of Plymouth Drive, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after a Chicago Heights man told her to leave his home and she refused, according to the report. When police arrived and tried to escort Jenkins out, she fell to the ground and refused to get up, police said. She was then taken into custody. While Jenkins being taken to the station she kicked the police officer and his car radio, injuring her foot in the process, according to the report. She was treated for her injury at St. James Hospital. She was also charged with battery to a police officer.

No Talking to Other Women

A 53-year-old Chicago Heights man told police his wife became upset with him when he spoke to another woman. His wife struck him in the head with her metal walking cane, police said. The wife then left the area and the man reported her to police, according to the report. Police were unable to find the wife.

Attempted Home Invasion

A 45-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she heard knocking on her door, then heard her alarm system go off. The woman then heard banging on the interior door entrance to her garage before notifying police, according to the report. A man fled, was captured by police and was identified as the woman's ex-boyfriend Lawrence Randall, 43, of the 3700 block of Park Avenue in South Chicago Heights, police said. He was arrested and charged with attempted home invasion.

Retail Theft at Ultra Foods

Theresa Bentley, 35, and Terri Littlefield, 18, both of the 400 block of West Hickory Street, were arrested and charged with retail theft after they were seen bagging groceries in the dog food aisle at Ultra Foods, according to the report. Bentley and Littlefield paid for 2 gallons of milk and two packages of toilet paper but left the unpaid-for bags of goods in their cart as they attempted to leave the store, according to police.
