Police Blotter: Woman Crashes Car in Driveway to Evade Robber

THURSDAY, MARCH 22
Warrant Following Domestic Dispute
Talisha D. Frye, 31, of the 0-100 block of 19th Street in Chicago Heights was charged with domestic battery and obstructing justice and arrested on a Riverdale police warrant for aggravated assault. A man told police he and Frye were arguing in her home, around 10 p.m., when she slapped him repeatedly. She admitted to hitting the man but initially gave police a fake name, according to the report.

15th St DUI
Treion Usher, 26, of the 500 block of Antietam Street in Park Forest was charged with driving under the influence, driving with BAC greater than 0.08, improper parking, no insurance, driving on a suspended license and no valid registration. Police said Usher failed field sobriety and breath tests after finding him slumped over the wheel of his car at 15th Street and Wilson Avenue around 7 a.m.
Domestic Battery
David Porter, 56, of the 400 block of Concord Drive in Chicago Heights was charged with domestic battery. A woman told police that Porter slammed her arm in his door, around 9:30 a.m., and then pushed her.

Obstructing Justice
Evette Perez, 19, of the 100 block of Hickory Street in Joliet was charged with two counts of obstructing justice and arrested on a McHenry County warrant. Police said they were conducting a traffic stop on a car at 15th and Division streets, around 5 p.m., when Perez walked up and began speaking with the driver. She refused to stop interfering and then gave officers a fake birth date, according to the report.
Open Investigations: Fleeing Police, Car Crash
- Police said they are looking for a 23-year-old Chicago Heights man who reversed his car into traffic at Andover and Division streets and fled police officers, all while driving on a revoked license. The man, who an officer recognized from previous arrests, abandoned the car and escaped on foot in the 200 block of Beacon Boulevard, around 7:30 p.m., according to the report.
- About three hours later, a woman told police that she quickly reversed her car into an iron fence in the 500 block of Gregory Drive out of fear for her life. She said a man—described as black, wearing a black hoodie—grabbed her by the arm and demanded her purse as she was pulling into her driveway. He then reportedly fled eastbound empty-handed.
