Accused of Violating Space

Anthony E. Tomas, 35, of the 2400 block of Chicago Road, was arrested and charged with violation of an order of protection after his ex-girlfriend told police he forced his way into her home.

No Line Jumping at Dunkin'

A 20-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was at Dunkin' Donuts, 431 W. 14th St., when she got into an argument with another woman about whose turn it was. As the 20-year-old woman left the store carrying her baby, the other woman slammed her against the building, according to the report. Several other women surrounded the woman with the baby and struck her in the face, police said. The woman refused medical attention.

The Prodigal Son Returns (to Break a Window)

A 59-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he and his son had an argument about the son using narcotics, and the son punched him in the lip, leaving a cut, and then fled. The man went to St. James Hospital to be treated. More than two hours later, the son returned home and could not get inside, so he struck the front door windows, shattering the glass before fleeing again, according to the report.

Public Intoxication

Anthony Carpenter, 51, of the 400 block of West 16th Street, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after police saw him drinking a "yellow clear liquid" out of a 40-ounce bottle in the first block of East 16th Street, according to the report. Police said Carpenter's breath smelled like alcohol and his speech was slurred.

The Counterfeit Currency Computer Caper

The owner of The Computer Spot, 1207 South Halsted St., told police a man came into his store asking about the price of two laptops. The owner told the man the price would be $800. The man returned later with what appeared to be eight $100 bills. As the owner checked the bills, which he suspected were counterfeit, the man grabbed both laptops and left the store, according to the report. The owner followed him out and the man fled the scene, police said.

DUI

Fushia G. Lewis, 35, of the 1200 block of Ashland Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him for speeding near the intersection of 14th Street and Chicago Road. Asked if he had been drinking, Lewis told police he drank "two beers and a couple of shots."
