California Man Arrested For DUI

Marty L. McKemie, 43, of Felton, Calif., was arrested and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance, and disobeying a stop sign at 4:08 a.m. at 16th Place and Chicago Road. A patrol officer pulled McKemie over after he disobeyed a stop sign and caused the officer to swerve into oncoming traffic, according to the report. While speaking with McKemie, the officer detected the strong odor of alcohol on his breath and noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery and that his speech was slurred. When asked, McKemie told the officer that he had been drinking. After failing a field sobriety test, McKemie was arrested and transported to CHPD, where a breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol level to be 0.197. He was given a Nov. 7 Markham court date, and his rented 2012 Ford Mustang was towed and impounded.

Window Smashed on Concord Court

Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Concord Court at 1:06 a.m. in response to a burglar alarm, and when the responding officer arrived, he saw that the east side window of the residence was broken from the outside and ajar. The officer saw broken glass on the inside of the home and the screen removed and located in the back yard. The officer searched the residence and the area, but was unable to find an offender. No items were missing from the residence.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28

Man Accused of Domestic Battery Against Pregnant Ex-Girlfriend

Richard A. Rhymies, 29, of the 400 block of West 16th Place, was arrested on domestic battery complaints after police say he grabbed his ex-girlfriend, who the report notes is six months pregnant, by the throat and left arm as she exited her vehicle at his place of employment at10:50 a.m. Rhymies's current girlfriend told police that he never touched the woman.
