Police Discover Abused Dogs During Home Eviction in Harvey

A Harvey man faces two felony and nine misdemeanor charges after police found eight neglected dogs in his home.

A group of abused dogs are now in the care of the South Suburban Humane Society following a court-ordered eviction in Harvey, according to a press release from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Police discovered seven pit bulls and one Chihuahua while evicting 37-year-old William Roberson from his Harvey home on the 50 block of West 151st Street. One of the pit bulls was dead while two others were found emaciated—one with a leg injury and the other locked in a crate outside. The other dogs are in comparatively better condition, police say.

There is no indication the dogs were involved in fights.
