Police have two people of interest in custody for possible involvement with the shooting death of Derrick Bell.

Chicago Heights police have two individuals in custody that they expect to charge for involvement in the Friday shooting death of Dolton resident Derrick Bell.

"We have a couple of people of interest in custody," Rogers said. "We hope to bring up charges later today [Monday]."

Bell, 19, was killed in the 800 block of Sangamon Street in what Rogers told the Southtown Star was a disagreement about the alleged theft of a television, involving one of the people of interest.

Police discovered the body after gun shots were reported around 2 p.m. Friday, police said. Chicago Heights Police Chief Michael Camilli was at the scene, where police had blocked the entire intersection of Sangamon Street and Broadway Ave until around 5:30 p.m. in case of a hostage situation.

"We have one victim right now," Rogers said at the scene Friday. "No other victims at this time. The building was checked secure, there were no other victims inside."
