Police: Pregnant Woman Punched in Stomach

FRIDAY, AUG. 24

Alcohol, Cocaine and "Twista"

Theodore Parker, 53, of the 1500 block of Wentworth Avenue, was arrested and charged with illegal transportation of alcohol after police stopped a man he was riding with for turning without signalling and abruptly coming to a complete stopped in the middle of 16th Street, according to the report. When police made contact with the driver they saw a clear bottle of gin sticking out of Parker's pocket, according to the report. After Parker was in custody police searched him and found a small, clear plastic bag, containing an "off-white rock-like" substance, which tested positive for cocaine, according to the report. Parker told police her received the rock earlier that day from a prostitute named "Twista."

Shoe-less DUI

Theordore L. Oldendorf, 45, of the 12300 block of Parrish Avenue in Cedar Lake, IN, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him near the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Chicago Road during a seatbelt check. Police smelled alcohol on Oldendorf's breath and had him pull into a parking lot for field sobriety tests, according to the report. When Oldendorf exited his vehicle, police noticed he was not wearing any shoes and that he had to use the driver side door for support, according to the report. Police also found two open beers in Oldendorf's vehicle. He received an additional charge of illegal transportation of alcohol, police said.

Pregnant Woman Punched

Demetrious A. Ferguson, 30, of the first block of West 21st Street, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after his girlfriend, who is two months pregnant, told police he grabbed her by the neck and punched her in the stomach. Ferguson left the area but police located him and took him into custody, according to the report. 

Beaten and Angry

Police responded to a call about battery in progress at Gyros Express in the 1800 block of Chicago Road and spoke to a witness, who said while she was at the restaurant three or four men began beating up another man, according to the report. The witness told police the men kicked and beat the man and may have hit him with a steel pipe. The victim then approached police but shouted obsenities at them when they asked what happened, according to the report. Asked if he needed medical, the man said "(expletive) you, I'll get it myself" before running away, according to the report.

Attempted Robbery?

A 27-year-old Chicago Heights man told police his former roommate came to his apartment with another man to pick-up belongings he had left there. While there the two attacked the man, punching him in his head and body and demanding money, according to the report. The man fought his way out of the attack before the two fled in an unknown direction, according to the report. Police saw contusions on the man's head and face but he refused medical attention, according to the report. 

No Soliciting

Police responded to a call about a suspicious person going door to door attempting to clean people's house windows, according to the report. After police found the man in question, he told them he was selling window cleaning solution and said he was "listed." The man could only provide his employee ID from the company J. Diversified and said he did not actually have a license with the City of Chicago Heights or the State of Illinois for any business, according to the report. Andra K. Williams, 46, of the 6900 block of South Jeffery Blvd. in Chicago, was then arrested and charged with soliciting unlawful business under local ordinance 32-82.
