Homeless Man Charged with Possession
Jeffrey T. Williams, 48, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for improperly walking on a roadway at about 10:45 a.m. Officers stopped Williams after he was spotted walking in the middle of the roadway on 15th Street near Portland Avenue. After a patdown, officers discovered 10 small bags containing an off-white substance and one clear tube that was suspected of being a crack pipe, according to the report. The substance was later determined not to be cocaine after a field test.
Repo Man Gets Punched in the Face
A repo worker attempting to repossess the car of a University Park man told police his nose was broken during a confrontation. The incident happened in the 100 block of Halsted Street at about 8:50 a.m. The repo man said the suspect came outside and punched him and the victim heard his nose "crack" after being hit. The suspect left the area and the victim opted to seek medical attention on his own.

Caller Harasses Business for Months
The owner of a business in the 1500 block of Western Avenue told police that a harassing caller has been contacting the business since Dec. 1. The caller reportedly blocks their number and calls to yell obscenities, complain about prices and threaten to report the business to the Small Business Bureau and Chicago Heights City Hall.

Men Arrested After Traffic Stop
David Shireman, 30, of the 24700 block of West Meadowlark in Channahon and Christopher Partridge, 22, of the 2700 block of Chicago Road in Chicago Heights were arrested at about 2:48 a.m. at 21st Street and Chicago Road. Officers stopped the men's vehicle after noticing an expired registration, according to reports, and the eyes of driver Shireman appeared bloodshoot and watery. Shireman was taken into custody for driving under the influence. Passengers Partridge and another 22-year-old male were taken into custody after officers also observed seven small, clear plastic bags containing an off-white rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine on the floor on the passenger side.
