Sauk Village Man Dies After Chicago Police Tasered Him

Suspected of theft on the North Side, the man ran from police.

A south suburban man accused of resisting arrest in Chicago died Tuesday, two weeks after police shot him with a Taser gun on Chicago's North Side.

Dominique Franklin Jr., 23, of the 21000 block of Olivia Avenue, Sauk Village, died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 4:49 p.m. Tuesday, reports the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Franklin was arrested on suspicion of retail theft on May 7 in the Old Town neighborhood but ran, which led to police firing a Taser gun at him.
