Shots Fired During Armed Robbery at Chicago Heights T-Mobile

Police are looking for four offenders in a Buick after a Monday morning robbery at a T-Mobile store in Chicago Heights.

A steel door was the only thing separating a T-Mobile customer and the bullets of an armed robber, according to Chicago Heights Police.

Police are seeking additional information on four men involved in the armed robbery of the T-Mobile store in the 500 block of West 14th Street, according to Police Sgt. Joseph Bruni.

The robbery occurred just before noon as one man entered the store with a gun and sent the store clerk and three customers into a back room. The man was then joined by two others while a driver waited in a champagne-colored Buick outside the store, police said.

After one of the customers locked herself inside a restroom, one of the man fired four shots at the steel door, but the bullets did not penetrate.

The men made off with no more than six cell phones they obtained from an unlocked safe inside the store, according to police. There were no injuries during the robbery.
