Tequila Fan from Matteson Faces DUI Charges

A 23-year-old driver is due in Markham court after police pulled him over on Oct. 3.

A Matteson man who was driving around Chicago Heights with a half-empty bottle of tequila is accused of drunken driving, according to a report.

Ceandre D. Moore, 23, of the 900 block of Purdue, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, driving without a front license plate, driving without insurance, illegally transporting alcohol and improper lane use, according to Chicago Heights police.

Moore was arrested on Oct. 3 after failing sobriety tests during a traffic stop, the report states.

Police spotted a car swerving in and out of the southbound lane of Chicago Road near Hickory Street at about 3:44 a.m., the report states. An officer who pulled the car over spoke with the driver, who reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

Moore told police he had a couple of drinks that night, the report states.

An officer asked Moore to take tests for sobriety and, after failing those tests, placed him under arrest, the report states. During a search of Moore’s car, cops found an open and half-empty bottle of Patron Silver.

Moore is due on Oct. 24 in Markham court.
