Trendy Robbers Snatch Designer Loot

Two men with an eye for the finer things robbed a Chicago Heights resident on the street, police said.

Two robbers walked up and stole a 24-year-old man's Gucci wallet, phone and sunglasses on Sept. 17, police said.

The victim told police that he was walking eastbound on Beacon Boulevard near Division Street at about 1:13 p.m. when he was approached by two men, police said.

An expensive cell phone and $83 were among the items stolen in the robbery, police said.

One of the robbers asked "Where is it?" and ordered the victim to "give it up" while the second reached into his pocket, police said. The man pulled out a tan, green and red cloth Gucci wallet that contained $83 cash. One assailant then knocked the man's white iPhone out of his hand and picked it up off the ground.

The robbers' final action before running away was to snatch the Gucci sunglasses off of the victim's head.

Both men took off westbound on Beacon before heading north, police said.

Cops searched the area but were unable to find the robbers. No arrests were reported.

One of the robbers was described as a black male, 5-foot, 10-inches tall, 175 pounds, between 17 and 25 years old and was wearing a black hoodie. The second robber also was a black male, 5-foot, 10-inches tall, 150 pounds, between 17 and 25 years old and was wearing a red shirt, basketball shorts and Adidas shoes.
