Two Car Accident Stalls Evening Vollmer Road Traffic

A two car accident in the intersection of Vollmer Road and Route 50 snarled traffic east and west of the intersection Monday night.

Although the collision between a white, Chevy Cavalier and another car left both vehicles undrivable, it was believed that there were no serious injuries, according to a Matteson police officer directing traffic at the scene.

Cook County Sheriffs police also responded to the accident scene, with some emergency vehicles parking at a Shell/Circle K station at 4755 Vollmer Road.

Tow trucks pulled the vehicles from the intersection and traffic was flowing normally by around 7:15 p.m.
