Wheelchair-bound Man Robbed At Gunpoint of Cash and Phone

The 23-year-old from Chicago Heights lost more than $1,200 cash when one man drew a revolver and a second man demanded everything he had, according to a report.

Two men robbed a 23-year-old Chicago Heights man in a wheelchair at gunpoint, police said.

The victim was on his front porch at about 3 p.m. on June 5 in the 200 block of West 14th Place when the two suspects approached, according to a Chicago Heights police report.

One of the men pointed a black revolver while the other man told the victim to "Give me everything in your wallet and pocket," according to statements in the report.

A T-Mobile cellphone, worth about $250, and about $1,270 in cash were taken in the holdup, the report states. Both men fled with their plunder on foot.

The victim is currently restrained in a wheelchair and was not injured in the incident, according to the report.

Chicago Heights police are investigating. A description of the suspects was not available.
