Woman Uses Pregnancy Pants to Smuggle Steaks Out of Ultra Foods: Police

The woman was caught with about $75 worth of meat in her stretch jeans on Dec. 26, according to police.

A South Chicago Heights woman used pregnancy pants to carry something a little different, according a police report.

Cynthia M. Velasquez, 31, of the 2700 block of Commercial Avenue in South Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with retail theft after security at Ultra Foods saw her make "furtive movements within her jean pregnancy pants" as she passed the last point of purchase, according to the report.

Velasquez tried to run out the exit, but was detained by security. In her pants, Velasquez had three boneless New York strip steaks and one boneless rib-eye steak, worth about $75 total, according to the report.

She is scheduled to appear at Markham Courthouse on Jan. 16.
