Amaseno Lodge Celebrates 100 Years in Chicago Heights

Mayor Gonzalez is calling the event a "great milestone" for the organization.

Mayor David Gonzalez helped members of Amaseno Lodge No. 3 celebrate 100 years in the Heights at their annual three-day Festa Di San Lorenzo And San Rocco. The long-standing traditional event ran all weekend, from Aug. 9 to Aug. 11.

“It’s a great milestone for the organization,” Mayor Gonzalez said. “They’ve done a lot in the community. It’s great to see how they have continued generation after generation of the history of the Italian Americans here in Chicago Heights.”

The Amaseno Lodge No. 3 was founded in 1913 to help Italian immigrant families gain a foothold in this country by providing a death benefit to their families during times of loss, according to their website.
