Alderman Charged with Battery after Argument at D170 Facility

Chicago Heights Alderman Rich Amadio turned himself in March 19, according to a police report. He faces a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a dispute with a District 170 employee.

Chicago Heights Alderman Rich Amadio is accused of injuring the thumb of a fellow employee at a District 170 building, according to a report obtained Tuesday afternoon.

Amadio, who is an employee of District 170, turned himself into police on March 19, according to the Chicago Heights police report. He faces one count of misdemeanor battery.

On Feb. 21, Amadio and another employee got into an argument over a truck plow, according to the report. The alleged victim told police that Amadio grabbed a can of hydraulic fluid he was holding, injuring his thumb in the process.
