Chicago Heights Set to Uproot Tree Stumps

The Chicago Heights city council approved a measure to begin tree stump removal throughout the city. The work will be divided into three areas, and should begin shortly.

If tree stumps are leaving Chicago Heights residents, well, stumped, the city is on a path to help clear out many unsightly tree stumps. The city council approved a measure to begin removing tree stumps from residents' homes in three sections within the city, with work set to begin shortly.

“Since this administration has been in place, many residents have voiced their concerns about the stumps in the parkways," says Lisa Aprati, Chief of Staff. "They’ve asked for them to be removed for years, she adds. I’m happy to say that we are doing our best to address this issue.”

The city is broken down into three areas: Area 1, 2 and 3. Area 1 includes everything north of Joe Orr Road between Western Avenue and Cottage Grove. Area 2 includes properties from Joe Orr Road south to Route 30 and Area 3 includes Route 30 south to 26th Street.
