City Council to Discuss Budget and Making Jones Center a Landmark: On the Agenda

Chicago Heights City Council meets Monday, April 18 at 7 p.m. with several items on the agenda. But first, there will be a public hearing.

Mayor Vincent Zaranti and the Chicago Heights City Council will meet Monday, April 18, to discuss the corporate appropriations budget for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2011, and ending April 30, 2012. There will be time allotted for public participation and comments.

After the public hearing, the regular city council meeting will take place, at which the appropriations funds will be brought up again. Here are a few other items on the agenda:

  • Adopting the recommendations of the Historic Preservation Committee and designating the as a historical landmark.
  • Approving and authorizing the treasurer to transfer money between city funds.
  • Commemorating Pleasant Drive as the John A. Maloni Honorary Way.
