U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson's is being treated for exhaustion, according to a press release sent out by his office June 25.
The release did not give any additional details or say how long the 17-year congressman would be away, but said would remain open for constituent services.
The statement said Jackson had been on leave since June 10, with a spokesman for Jackson telling Tribune reporters the delayed release was a family request.
Jackson is under a House Ethics Committee investigation into allegations that his friend, Raghuveer Nayak, offered former Gov. Rod Blagojevich as much as $6 million in campaign cash to give Jackson President Barack Obama’s U.S. Senate seat.
