DeLuca Proposes Bill to Speed Up Local Government Payments

House Bill 961 would require portions of the state's tax revenue to go directly to the Local Government Distributive Fund.

A bill sponsored by State Rep. Anthony DeLuca may provide quicker relief for local governments dealing with payment delays.

The proposed legislation, HB 961, calls for a portion of state revenue tax receipts to bypass the General Revenue Fund and move directly to the Local Government Distributive Fund, according to a release from DeLuca’s office.

“I am simply cutting out the middle man and giving the local governments their money faster,” DeLuca said. “As a former Mayor of the City of Chicago Heights, I completely understand the importance of receiving necessary funds in a timely manner.”
