Health Care for the Poor and Honoring a Late Mayor: On the Agenda

Mayor David Gonzalez and the Chicago Heights City Council will meet Monday, May 16. There will be time allotted for public participation and comments.

Some notable items on the agenda include:

  • A resolution allowing the mayor to execute an agreement with St. James Health Center enabling St. James to provide uncompensated health care to the poor and needy.
  • A resolution to commemorate East 23rd Street as "Mayor Alex Lopez Honorary Way."
  • An ordinance allowing the mayor to execute an agreement with the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association to form and join the "Southeast Commuter Rail Transit District."
