U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. Under Criminal Investigation for Campaign Spending

The Wall Street Journal says the federal government is investigating the congressman's campaign spending.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is getting FBI attention for his campaign spending, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The congressman is reportedly under federal investigation for accusations of misusing campaign money to decorate his $1.3 million Washington D.C. home.

The WSJ cites sources "familiar with the matter" and says the U.S. attorney's office and the FBI are "in the final stages" of the investigation.

Jackson's opponents, Brian Woodworth and Marcus Lewis, have both questioned the congressman's ability to lead after he was absent for several months and diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder. Jackson's office announced he was home from the Mayo Clinic in September.

While he remains on the November ballot, Jackson has mostly evaded the public eye since June.

The WSJ says the criminal investigation is separate from the ethics committee investigation into whether Jackson paid former governor Rod Blagojevich in exchange for Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat.

There is an independent running for this seat. You should do a story on him.

Pretty obvious he wasn't selling his home because of medical bills. Now we know the real reason.

He will be re-elected and then will step down so another Democrat will be able to be appointed.

Really why would anybody vote for him????

Anita, they have done a story on Marcus Lewis and he is a wild card. The guy is actually very scary to be honest with you. He fights and argues with anyone who does not agree with him. So the independent is dependent on himself.

So was he bipolar before or after he used contributor's funds to spruce up his place? And after all, if the reports of other women are true, he does need a better place to entertain. All you who voted or contributed to his campaigns, here's your man.

Exactly. My sentiments exactly. Why and who would throw his or her vote away like that? Safely deposit you precious vote with Marcus Lewis, Independent for Congress. www.marcuslewisforcongress2012.org

A true servant remains willing and ready to take action on behalf of those who need service - Thank you Good morning. On behalf of my wife and family, we thank each and every one of you for your prayers, well wishes and support. The loss belongs to our district as we, again, move forward being taxed without representation. But be encouraged, for win, lose or draw, a true public servant's work does not begin during campaign season nor does it end once an election is over. A true public servant is always searching for ways to improve the quality of life for everyone. A true public servant does not judge but seeks viable results for those who present themselves. Therefore, remaining true to my history, I, Anthony W. Williams, will continue to be accessible to the public at-large through contact information on my website and through the church I serve. I will remain dedicated, attentive and up-to-date on what and how decisions in government affect us. And I will be ready to meet the challenges, to seek solutions ,to speak out against injustice and those decisions or issues whether local or national which serve to disenfranchise us as individuals, a district or a nation as I have done in the past. Again, we thank you and God Bless Write-in Candidate, Anthony W. Williams

JESSE LOUIS JACKSON JR. SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME UP OUT OF THE BLUE AND ASKED ME TO BE HIS PERSONAL ASSISTANT. THIS SITUATION WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED IF HE HAD. THE ONLY ADVICE I HAVE FOR HIM NOW IS HE BETTER STAY PRAYED UP !
