PSC Trustee Candidacy Petitions Available

Candidacy petitions for two, six-year, non-compensated terms on the Prairie State College (PSC) Board of Trustees are now available.

Candidacy petitions for two, six-year, non-compensated terms on the Prairie State College (PSC) Board of Trustees are now available. The petition packages can be picked up from the President’s Office, located in room 2270 on PSC’s main campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

The election will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. The vacant positions are for those of Trustees Jacqueline Agee and Phil Faso, whose terms expire in April 2013.

In order to qualify, a candidate must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, have resided in Illinois Community College District 515 for at least one year, be a registered voter, and have petition signatures from a minimum of 50 registered voters who live in the district.

Petitions with the required number of signatures may be filed between Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, and Monday, Dec. 24, 2012. Petitions will be accepted in the PSC President’s Office by the secretary of Community College District 515, or a designated representative. Petitions may be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, through Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. Petitions also will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.

A Statement of Candidacy and optional Loyalty Oath also must be filed at that time. Additionally, a Statement of Economic Interests must be filed with the county clerk of the candidate’s residence. The resulting receipt must then be filed with the secretary of Community College District 515 or a designated representative no later than Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.
