Prairie State College to Host Area High School Juried Art Exhibit

Students from several south suburban area high schools will have their art work on display at the Prairie State College (PSC) High School Juried Art Exhibit from Monday, March 17 through Thursday, April 3. The exhibit is being hosted at the Christopher Art Gallery, located on the PSC campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

A reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 3. A 7 p.m. award ceremony announcing the winners of the exhibit also will be held that evening.

Students from all high schools in the PSC district are invited submit works for the annual show, which features a variety of media including computer art, drawing, graphic design, mixed media, painting, photography, and sculpture. Entries were submitted through the high school art departments and judged by PSC’s art faculty.

The Christopher Art Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Visits also can be made by appointment. For more information about the exhibit or to make an appointment for a visit, call (708) 709-3636.
