Back to School: Who Has the Deals on Last Minute School Supplies?

We visited two Chicago Heights groceries that carry school supplies, Ultra Foods and Food 4 Less. Find out which supplies are cheaper at each store.

Plenty of students are , and now is the time to scoop up all those last minute notebooks, folders, pencils and crayons.

I visited and Food 4 Less in Chicago Heights with one goal in mind: finding out where residents would pay less for school supplies. I looked at a few key items to get an idea of who tended to have the better deals.

While Food 4 Less had lower prices on more of the individual items I look at, Ultra had a much wider selection of school supplies. For the most part Food 4 Less carried one brand for each item, whereas Ultra carried multiple brands.

Edge

Between the two stores, Ultra won out for having more significant price differences on items like three-ring binders and folders, which tend to be essentials for a wide range of students. Ultra also had more variety.
